Wide Field Surveys of Herbig-Haro Objects
We report our new results from wide-field surveys of Herbig-Haro (HH) objects in the nearby star forming regions. The surveys covered approximately 56 deg in Perseus, Taurus, Orion, Monoceros, and other regions. Using refined techniques, we discovered in total 68 HH objects, of which 32 were in Perseus, 4 in Taurus, 13 in Orion, 18 in Monoceros, and 1 in S287 regions. The newly discovered HH ob...
متن کاملHerbig - Haro Objects around Cg 30
In this work we study Herbig-Haro objects located in the region around the head of the cometary globule CG 30. Two sets of optical images are presented. The first set was obtained with the 3.5 m New Technology Telescope in 1995 in three emission lines: Hα, [S II]λλ6731,6716Å and [O II]λ3729Å. The second set is an Hα image of the CG 30/31/38 complex obtained in 2006 with the 8 m Subaru telescope...
متن کاملThe ortho and para fractions of molecular hydrogen in protostellar outflows and Herbig-Haro objects
Hydrogen molecules exist in two forms, according to the alignment of the nuclear spins. We present an accurate method for extracting the distributions of the two forms from three K-band infrared transitions. Images of the 1-0 S(0), S(1) and S(2) emission lines yield the ortho and para spatial distributions with negligible extinction and model dependence. The ortho-para ratio from individual poi...
متن کاملStructure , Excitation , and Kinematics of the Luminous Herbig - Haro Objects
We present a detailed study of the Herbig-Haro objects HH 80/81, twin working surfaces in the highly collimated outÑow driven by a luminous young star. High angular resolution emission line images obtained with the Hubble Space Telescope are used together with ground-based lowand high-dispersion spectroscopy, and proper motion measurements to provide a comprehensive picture of the structure and...
متن کاملT Tauri Stars Associated with Herbig-haro Objects and Jets
We have obtained deep [S II] jj6716, 6731 and continuum images of the Ðve classical T Tauri stars (CTTSs) DP Tau, RW Aur, V536 Aql, LkHa 321, and V1331 Cyg. These CTTSs were selected for our imaging study because they either showed strong P Cygni absorptions in their spectra (LkHa 321, V1331 Cyg) or were known from long-slit spectroscopic studies to have bipolar jetlike outÑows (DP Tau, RW Aur,...
